I believe; in October 2009.</div><br /><div>Will this much awaited for operating system exceed expectations?</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I have been using the RC pre-release version of this operating system to see how it performs. As a lover of Vista, which I have on my main desktop computer, I expected Windows 7 to run as smooth as my Vista as well as look nice. I wasn't dissapointed. Not only does it look good, it runs smoother than Vista and programs respond faster. Although a lot of this performance is down to what hardware you have, you do not need a "super computer" to run Windows 7, unlike Vista.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I have had Windows 7 RC running on my laptop; Acer Aspire 5315, Intel Celeron 550 2GHZ Processor (NOT DUAL CORE) with 2GB Ram installed. It runs great. (Vista would need nearly twice that to run this smooth).</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I can't wait for the final release to hit the shops. Exciting times, I just hope that the retailers can cope with the demand. The developers at Microsoft and other parties involved have certainly excelled themselves with this operating system. If I was to describe it in 1 word "MAGNIFICENT" is my choice. It is truly a masterpiece.</div><br /><div></div><div>I believe this to be the perfect operating system.
